Tower House Pharmacy Supports Nailsea Health Fair

On Saturday 26th January the Crown Glass Shopping Centre in Nailsea held a Health and Wellbeing Day. Tower House Pharmacy were asked if they wanted to participate and Jonathan Wood, Pharmacist Manager and Kim Maggs, Trainee Dispenser went along to support the event and to provide the community with some free health advice. The Tower House Medical Centre were also represented along with Arrythmia Alliance, a holistic therapist and reflexologist and the local opticians.
The day was a great success with an retail unit being transformed into a centre for shoppers to receive health advice.
During the day Jonathan and Kim offered blood pressure measuring, diabetes screening , carbon monoxide monitoring for smokers, as well as providing impromptu advice on shopper's medications and travel health and distributing. There was a constant queue for Jonathan and Kim to provide their health checks and over 50 were provided on the day.
Pharmacist Manager Jonathan Wood said after the event “This was a great idea from Crown Glass Shopping Centre and the shoppers certainly valued the opportunity to discuss their health. We are looking forward to supporting these events in the future”
