Tower House Pharmacy Goes International!
Tower House Pharmacy has welcomed its first international student. Jennifer Dunn is a final year pharmacy student at the University of Colorado graduating in the summer. As part of her studies Jennifer has to undergo a number of placements to gain practical experience of pharmacy. For her final placement Jennifer was keen to undertake an international placement and contacted pharmacy manager Jonathan Wood, who after reviewing the syllabus of the pharmacy school was delighted to offer Jennifer a placement. Jonathan has experience teaching pharmacy at undergraduate level at the Welsh School of Pharmacy and has worked in pharmacy training so was delighted to be involved in the placement.

Jennifer spent the weekdays in the pharmacy learning about pharmacy in the United Kingdom and also getting to understand the workings of our National Health Service. Weekends were spent exploring, visiting London, Bath, Cornwall, Bristol and local attractions such as Wells and Glastonbury

Jonathan commented on the placement, “It has been a good experience for myself and the team looking after Jennifer and giving her experience, not only of the work we do but also providing the opportunity to see something of the United Kingdom”.
