South Kirkby Pharmacy Backs Alcohol Awareness Month
(Posted on 01/01/15)
South Kirkby Pharmacy is supporting Alcohol Concern’s Dry January campaign by encouraging people to visit the pharmacy and access a free NHS service which gives advice on alcohol intake.
During Dry January, people will be encouraged to stop drinking alcohol.
Pharmacy Manager Kay Eaton said:
“South Kirkby Pharmacy is accessible and convenient and is ideally placed to help improve public health. Our Pharmacists and staff can offer advice as part of a standardized intervention called alcohol intervention and brief advice (IBA) which assesses an individual’s drinking habits and offers effective structured advice.”
“With the help of our pharmacy team, you can get a better understanding of your drinking habits and the effects these have on your health. Most people have heard about alcohol units but many are unaware of what these actually mean. This service is free and our pharmacy team can give advice and refer people on to other healthcare professionals if they need further help.”
