Somerset Gardens Pharmacy Supports Back to School Health
Staff at Somerset Gardens Pharmacy in Tottenham are highlighting the importance of children’s health when the new school term starts by reminding parents to remain vigilant about head lice.

Rahul Gajree, manager at Somerset Gardens Pharmacy, said: “It’s really important for parents with school-age children to be aware of the risk of head lice. They are extremely contagious and, quite often, will go unnoticed and undetected for at least a month.

“We offer a range of products for head lice prevention and treatment, and can advise on how best to use them to eradicate the lice and eggs. A coordinated combing effort is a great way to break the head lice cycle, if you have any concerns come in and speak to a member of the pharmacy team.”

Somerset Gardens Pharmacy offers a wide range of services including a free prescription collection and delivery service, support with stopping smoking and provides free medication for minor ailments under a scheme called the Minor Ailments Scheme. The Minor Ailments Scheme allows patients who are entitled to free prescriptions to receive free medicines to receive treatment without needing to visit their GP to get a prescription first.

All children aged 16 & under, and children aged 18 & under in full time education are entitled to free prescriptions.
