Hope Farm Pharmacy Offers Hay Fever Advice
(Posted on 23/04/15)
Spring is here and for most of us we look forward to enjoying being out in the fresh air. But for 15 million hay fever sufferers in the UK, the season can bring with it sneezing, runny noses and itchy eyes.
Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen. The majority of sufferers are allergic to grass pollen and can experience symptoms from April through to August. Hope Farm Pharmacy’s Manager Richard Stanhope said, “For some, symptoms are mild but for many others hay fever can cause discomfort and irritability.”
Many cases of hay fever can be controlled using over the counter medicine.
“Whether you’ve been prescribed medication by your GP or you want advice on how to treat your symptoms, the team at Hope Farm Pharmacy can help.”
“Depending on the severity of the symptoms, we might suggest a nasal spray, eye drops or antihistamine tablets”, said Richard.
If over the counter treatments don’t give you the relief you’re looking for, the Pharmacist will advise you to see your GP.
Richard says, “People must be cautious with taking any medicine. Pop in to see us for your hay fever advice. We’re open long hours and an appointment isn’t always necessary!”
