The New Felixstowe Pharmacy opened its doors to patients at Central Surgery, Felixstowe on Monday 4th March 2013 at 7am.
The New Felixstowe Pharmacy is situated at the Central Surgery premises in temporary accommodation prior to relocating to the £3.5m New Medical Centre which it is estimated will complete in early 2014. The pharmacy is a joint venture between the established specialist primary care pharmacy operator Community Pharmacies (UK) Ltd and GPs at Central Surgery.
Felixstowe Pharmacy provides a full range of services including NHS and Private Prescription Dispensing, Healthcare & Medicines Advice and a FREE Prescription Collection and Delivery Service. The pharmacy also offers a range of self-selection and over the counter medicines at competitive prices.
Community Pharmacies (UK) Ltd’s Managing Director Andrew Murray said “We are delighted to be opening a new pharmacy in Felixstowe. This has been a long time in the planning and we are pleased to have been able to secure the lease for the pharmacy unit at the New Medical Centre. The pharmacy will relocate to the New Medical Centre in 2014 when the practice moves and, in the meantime, we will be providing pharmacy services from the current Central Surgery location serving the local community with services tailored to meet the needs of the area.”
Dr Stephen Feltwell from Central Surgery said “We have been working on the development of a New Primary Care Centre for the Felixstowe community for many years and we have overcome many challenges to deliver this fantastic new healthcare facility. In addition to providing a modern purpose built Primary Care Resource Centre we have been successful in securing a new pharmacy for the development working with Andrew Murray and his team from Community Pharmacies. We are confident that the integration of pharmacy services with our medical centre will ensure that we are able to provide an exceptional service for patients and we look forward to continuing to provide the community of Felixstowe with a broad range of healthcare services.”
The pharmacy is open when the surgery is open and provides extended hours into the evenings and over weekends.
The Late Night Pharmacy is open to everyone, not just to patients of the Health Centre, and a pharmacist will always be available to offer advice on medicines and minor ailments.
Ahmed Lulat, Pharmacy Manager at Felixstowe Pharmacy, said “The team and I are really excited about the opening of our new pharmacy, and we are looking forward to providing a first class service to all.”
In addition to the usual prescription dispensing, other free services available at Felixstowe Late Night Pharmacy include a FREE prescription collection and delivery service, treatment for minor illnesses, medicine reviews with a pharmacist to help patients get the most from their medicines, and many more. Anyone can call in to see the friendly pharmacy team to discuss any health or medication concerns and a warm welcome awaits.
