Crewkerne Pharmacy Supports Dementia Patients and their Carers
Crewkerne Pharmacy, in Crewkerne Healthcare Centre, is taking part in the National Association of Primary Care dementia signposting pilot scheme.

The pharmacy will be a "Primary Care Navigator" for patients diagnosed with dementia and their carer. Once a diagnosis has been made by the GP they will be given a contact at Crewkerne Pharmacy who they can get in touch with for further information and support.

Andy McKee, Pharmacy Manager at Crewkerne Pharmacy, said: “"The pharmacy can put people who may have dementia in touch with a full range of health and wellbeing resources so that they can get the help they need. It doesn't matter if they don't have a diagnosis, and they don't have to go through the doctor. So if you or someone you care for may have dementia, give us a call and we'll take it from there."

“We’re looking forward to helping our local community to ensure that both dementia patients and their carers’ have all the support and information they need.”
