Crewkerne Pharmacy raises money for Movember
A local pharmacy is ending November in style after  a month-long fundraiser for Movember.

Members of staff from Crewkerne Pharmacy and the adjoining Crewkerne Health Centre took part in the global event, pooling their combined funds to donate.

A display of various styles of moustache were put on show in the pharmacy, with customers  encouraged to vote for their favourite by donating to the Movember Foundation.

Andy McKee, branch manager at Crewkerne Pharmacy, said: ‘Movember has been a lot of fun. It’s a great way to raise awareness and money for men’s health issues, which we’re working towards in the pharmacy.

“Despite hoping the local community wouldn’t want me to look too daft, the style voted for me was the ‘friendly mutton chops’. Although Lemmy from Motorhead might pull it off, I look ridiculous – but at least it’s for a good cause!’

Andy was joined by three doctors in Crewkerne Health Centre who also sported outrageous moustaches. The centre’s Dr. Field opted for the handlebar, Dr. Merrifield the ‘Zorro’, and Dr. Balien the ‘walrus’.

A bake sale also took place on site, with cakes being by surgery staff to help raise more funds for the Movember Foundation.

Movember is an annual event that encourages men to grow moustaches for the duration of November to raise funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.
