A new pharmacy is coming to Thanet – but with a familiar face at the helm!

Margate Pharmacy, a new venture from Community Pharmacies (UK) Limited, will be linking up with Northdown Surgery to bring a brand new healthcare resource to the local community.
Opening its doors at 7:00am on Monday, July 22, the pharmacy is situated next door to the Northdown Surgery, on St. Anthony’s Way, Margate. Local residents may recognise the new man at the helm, with Stephen Foster, former owner of Pierremont Pharmacy in Broadstairs, taking up the role of Pharmacy Manager. National clinical leader Stephen, 40, will be in charge of the new pharmacy, the 18th opened by the North West-based Community Pharmacies, who operate pharmacies throughout England in partnership with local GP Practices.
Stephen said: “Although it was a wrench to leave Broadstairs after five successful years, having created a new concept of pharmacy and becoming recognised as one of the top pharmacies in the country, I’m very excited about being given the opportunity to start afresh and look forward to renewing relationships with my old patient base. I am also looking forward to introducing our great customer service and award-winning clinical service to a new cohort of patients as well.”
Stephen, who has won several national awards over the years, including amongst others, ‘Clinical Service of the Year’ in 2008 and ‘Pharmacy Team of the Year’ in 2009, believes his greatest achievement was making it on to the Emergency Medical Team for the London 2012 Olympics.
Stephen says, “The Olympics experience has undoubtedly been the pinnacle of my career so far. My inclusion in a team of emergency medical practitioners - where I was the only pharmacist amongst a team of surgeons, doctors, physiotherapists and nurses - demonstrated the increasingly significant role that pharmacists can play in the care of patients and the public.” Stephen built his previous businesses on a combination of convenience, great customer service and award-winning clinical services, something which he is confident of replicating in his new role at Margate Pharmacy. The pharmacy will be open for 100 hours each week - 7:00am to 10:30pm Mondays to Saturdays, and 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sundays.
